Privacy

A marketing-level explanation of how Signal handles your data. The full Privacy Policy is the binding legal document.

What Signal is designed to do

Signal is designed to let you broadcast a short, voluntary intent to the people physically near you — and only to those people — for a short time you control.

What visibility means

Your intent is visible only while your session is active. Your visibility is symmetric: you see others only while they see you. Visibility has a hard end: when the timer runs out, your visibility ends too.

What Signal does not expose

Signal does not expose your exact coordinates, your name, your contacts, your movement history, or your device identifier to other participants, to advertising networks, or to analytics services.

Temporary by design

Every record on Signal is tied to an active session. When the session ends, the record is removed. There is no archive and no "last seen nearby" list.

Your control

You choose the duration, you write the intent, you decide to start, and you can stop at any time. There is no default-on mode and no opt-out of default behaviour to undo.
