Getting started
A first session in Signal takes about a minute. Here is what to expect on the first run, what permissions are asked, and how to stop a session.
First run
When you first open Signal, you will be asked to accept the legal documents and to grant foreground location permission. Both are required to start a session.
Sign in and linked identity
Signal uses Google sign-in as the primary authentication. Telegram account linking is a separate, optional step that you can use to identify yourself to a Telegram contact you already have.
Your first session
Pick a duration, write an intent, tap "I’m here". The radar appears within a few seconds.
Stopping a session
Tap Stop, or wait for the timer to run out. Either way, the session ends and the radar cell forgets you.
